Lost received three nominations from the Television Critics Association Awards, which will be given out on July 31. The series received nods for Program of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Drama, as well as the Heritage Award. In addition, Katey Sagal - also known as Helen Norwood - was nominated for Individual Achievement in Drama for her work in the series Sons of Anarchy.

Lost’s series finale has, as expected, a lot of nods to the past six seasons. From old motels to count-to-five stories to the ubiquitous Apollo Bar, it was as much a goodbye to these little bits as it was a goodbye to the show’s characters. And then, at the very end, Lost finishes in style, with a nod to the very first scene. All that in Lost’s last ever set of Easter Eggs, for the series finale, fittingly called “The End”.
Anyone who expected more answers during the Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost might be disappointed, because there was nothing really huge revealed on the hour-long send-off to Lost. The “alternate endings” turn out to be parodies of shows such as Survivor and Newhart! But some of the cast had some fun over there, and there was a light, jovial mode throughout the hour. The episode title says it all. After six seasons, more than a hundred episodes and and a lot of questions, Lost finally ends tonight. Within two and a half hours, many questions will be answered, but more importantly, the end game gets swinging, and everybody involved gets their just desserts.
We’ve got a live blog going here, and we’ll post our full recap once it’s done. But right now, here’s my question: what did you think of tonight’s finale?

With the series finale almost here, I decided to look back at all the little things I loved about the show. The DHARMA Shark. The jar of invisible peanut butter. The clicking sounds of Smokey. There are a lot of tiny things that made watching Lost even more fun, and here’s my ode to all of those things.
TV Guide Magazine reports that the DVD release of Lost’s sixth and final season will feature twenty minutes of additional footage, with answers to questions that they couldn’t fit into the two-and-a-half-hour series finale airing Sunday.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences have confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the two-and-a-half-hour finale of Lost will be eligible for an Emmy, despite rules stating that extended episodes can only run for two hours to be eligible.
“We have a soft spot in our hearts for the final episodes of long-running series,” said John Lawrence, the organization’s senior VP of awards.
This isn’t the first time the ATAS made such an exception: it did the same for the series finales of The Wire and The Sopranos. A similar move for Lost’s finale, which airs Sunday, means cast members can submit the episode for consideration in acting categories, and ABC can also submit it to contend for the best drama category.
The end is almost here, so get even more excited for this Sunday’s series finale by checking out the official photos from the finale:
